My Term 2, 2020 Reflection

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is Number of the day because my favourite activity is maths and it is math revision.

Something that has challenged me this term has been the math mystery because each week we get different types of questions.

The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was maths mystery because it challenged me the most out of all the maths activities.

The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was the blog challenges because it was one of the most fun activities.

An aim I have for my learning is to learn all my times tables.

EGG CARTON CREATION

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.

My creation didn't turn out how I wanted it to turn out because I was suppose to paint it but I didn't have time to And for the sand it was suppose to be real sand.

My materials I used was wool, egg cartons, straws, hot glue, tape.

The hardest part was putting wool on the egg carton and hot gluing my creation.

The easiest part was the tapping it.

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be sort of easy but it actually was really hard

I decided to use my own kind of design but it was kind of like the javelin Paper Plane.

The hardest part was figuring out how I can make my own type of Paper Plane but also I had trouble folding it.

During our competition time I managed to score 32.

Tennis Ball Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).

Today I worked with Amy-leigh and Jessica

At first we had trouble with trying to think how it was going to stand up.

The easiest thing was building our tower a bit bigger that what we had it.

The hardest thing was trying to make it stand up and trying to make it stand with the ball in it.

The best part of our tower was the top of it where the ball was holding up.

Our tower looked really good but we didn't put any decorations and didn't even draw on our Tennis Tower.

In the end it turned out very well as we wanted it to turn out.
